About the scheme

As part the planning permission granted by Maldon District Council for the Westcombe Park housing development (application 15/00419/OUT and APP/X1545/W/19/3230267), a new relief road will be constructed between Langford and Broad Street Green in Heybridge.
Countryside properties are responsible for the works and will be employing Walsh Contracting and FM Conway to carry out construction activities on their behalf.

How it may affect you

Roadworks will be carried out in phases, with traffic management reviewed and adjusted where necessary according to the activities being undertaken. Advertised dates may be subject to change if the programme is affected by poor weather or if unexpected issues arise.

Maypole Road

A left right staggered junction has been constructed on Maypole Road, which will eventually form part of the relief road between Langford Road and Broad Street Green.

Remedial works were carried out to Maypole Road during August 2023.  This has been completed however temporary traffic management remains in place on sections of Maypole Road to ensure that traffic flows safely through the area.  A reduced speed limit remains in place.

Broad Street Green

A new roundabout has been constructed at Broad Street Green. Traffic management on this roundabout was removed on the 21 July 2023 to allow normal movements around the roundabout.
