Chelmsford City Growth Package

Essex County Council secured £15 million to invest in sustainable transport methods designed to help alleviate pressure on Chelmsford’s road network. Following the consultation held in 2017, decisions were subsequently made on schemes to take forward.

Listed below are schemes that have now been completed, while progress on the other work packages are ongoing and can be viewed at Chelmsford Highway Schemes.

Chelmer Valley Road is a key route connecting the north of Chelmsford into the city and connects to the Chelmer Valley Park and Ride. The proposed scheme extends from Alan Cherry Drive through to the Lawn Lane Roundabout.
