Updates to 'Tell us' and 'Track it'.

Latest News

We’ve noticed a lot of enquiries reported to Essex Highways are about issues we already know about. We've introduced some updates to the way issues can be reported and tracked to reduce the number of duplications and make the 'Tell us' and 'Track It' tools easier for you to use.

Where possible we now include a photo of a defect that has already been reported to us and inspected. This means you can check on the pop up message on the map if it’s the same defect you wish to tell us about or not. You can also sign up to updates about a defect rather than raising a new enquiry about something we already know about. Again, you can do this by checking on the map and clicking on the pop up message.

Finally, there’s now an option for you to tell us if some defects have got worse. This is another option on the pop up messages, and to tell us you’ll need to supply a photo that inspectors can then assess.

We hope these updates help make it easier to sign up for alerts on defects we already know about. Not only will this help you, but it will help us target our inspections to where they are needed the most.

Track it

If you've told us about something you can check for updates on Track it - or if you want to see if we already know about something then you can use Track it to check.

Please note that street lighting related enquiries cannot be found on our track it map or by using a reference number. However, street lighting defects can be viewed on the map by finding the relevant location.

Use the multifunctional search box in the map to look up your location, an address or postcode, enquiry or defect number. You can also use a what3words address, by selecting that option in the multifunctional search box. You can limit your search by choosing a search option from the dropdown menu. You can also just zoom in on the map to a location.

Once you have found the area on the map you will see different icons on the map, you can use the key button in the map  to help you identify what icons relate to different issues.
