M11 Junction 8 improvements scheme - Closure update

Overnight weekday closures will be in place on the northbound off-slip at M11 junction 8 from Monday 17 July to Friday 15 September as part of the M11 Junction 8 Improvements Scheme.

The closures will be in place from 9pm to 5am and are needed to renew the lighting cables and ducting for the lighting columns. Signed diversion routes will be in place during the overnight closures and restrictions will be removed at the end of each shift to allow the slip road to remain open during the day and help minimise traffic disruption. Birchanger Services will remain open and can be accessed through the diversions.

Further weekend closures will be needed at a later date and we are currently liaising with other schemes in the area to try and combine works to help minimise disruption.

Once complete, the M11 Junction 8 Improvement Scheme will improve access between the M11 and A120, help reeduce congestion and improve capacity on the M11 Junction 8 exit slips and the A120, and support future growth.
