Junction 8 Project update

An 'Invitation to Tender' was issued to contractors in November 2019 with returns due by the end of January 2020. Following this process, a detailed tender assessment will be undertaken to recommend a preferred contractor.

The contract will be awarded to the successful contractor in March 2020 with works commencing in May 2020. However, due to statutory diversions and some advanced works there may be a site presence from April 2020.

Construction of the scheme is expected to take up to two years, with more specific details being provided following the appointment of the successful contractor.

Before construction starts local groups, residents and businesses who may be affected by the scheme will be contacted. Information will also be published on this webpage; this will include work phases and plans for traffic management as details become available.
