Welcome to the Highways Service Information Centre
On behalf of Essex County Council, Bouygues UK Ltd are undertaking essential works on Fifth Avenue – Zelenskyy Avenue A1019 and Hammarskjold Road as part of the Harlow Sustainable Transport Corridor project.
As a result of these works, the following closures will be taking place:
The road closures on Fifth Avenue – Zelenskyy Avenue A1019 and Hammarskjold Road are needed to complete road resurfacing works in the area, while ensuring both public and workforce safety is maintained. Please note that these works are weather dependent, and dates may change accordingly.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of work taking place, there will be no access for vehicles on Fifth Avenue – Zelenskyy Avenue A1019 and Hammarskjold Road during closure periods. Emergency services access will be maintained on Hammarskjold Road, but unavailable southbound on Fifth Avenue – Zelenskyy Avenue A1019 due to open excavations in the carriageway. However, there will be clearly signed diversion routes during these road closures, with a map detailing closure locations and diversion routes available below.
A certain amount of inconvenience is inevitable with work of this type, and we greatly appreciate your patience whilst the works are being undertaken. This work will unavoidably create some noise, but we will endeavour to keep particularly noisy operations to before 10pm each evening. We apologise for any disturbance caused during this essential work and wish to assure you that we will undertake these works as efficiently and quickly as possible.
