Land Charges search

Land Charges search

A Land Charges search is usually performed when buying or leasing land or property. It is required to inform a purchase of the existence of any matters affecting the property or land.

Searches will be carried out by your solicitor or search company via the local authority using standard forms LLC1 (Search of Local Land Charges Register) and Con29R / Con29O.

Each local authority Land Charge Team is responsible for the whole search. Fees are payable for this service, and information on fees is available on the local authority websites.

Essex Highways are the Highway Authority for the local authorities listed below and as such are responsible for answering the questions on the Con 29 Form, which relate to the Maintenance of roads (including Section 38 adoption agreements) Proposed Road Schemes, Traffic Schemes, Outstanding Highway Notices, and Public Paths or Byways.

For more information regarding the Land Charges please contact your local authority
