About the works

Preparations are being made to renew the traffic signals located on A13 London Road, Rectory Road, Hadleigh.

Works are due to start on Monday 15 March 2021 and expected to take approximately four weeks to complete.

We will be replacing the traffic signals at the junction before they become unreliable and fail to work properly and will be installing new extra low voltage equipment, which will help reduce our carbon footprint.

Activities will include the replacing or renewing underground cable ducts under the carriageway as well as replacing equipment above ground. During recent improvement works to the public realm areas ducting has been installed within the footways to reduce the likelihood of disturbing these areas.

How it will affect you

The majority of the works will be carried out during the day Monday to Friday, with lane restrictions in place managed by temporary traffic signals to provide a safe working area for the workforce.

We currently anticipate that a limited number of overnight road closures will be required at the junction of London Road / Rectory Road and Rectory Road itself. Closure dates are currently being finalised and will be advertised on site signage. The road will reopen after each shift.

Advance warning notices will be used to advertise the works and appropriate diversions in place during temporary road closures.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times and for safety, we propose to install a temporary controlled pedestrian crossings across London Road whilst the works are undertaken.

We urge all drivers to take additional care and observe traffic management and signage in place during the closures.
