Traffic Regulation Orders

A Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) is a legal order. It enables the county council, as the highway authority, to manage traffic in the county. Examples of TROs includes parking restrictions, speed limits, one-way streets, weight restrictions, no right/left turns and loading bays. The following is a list of recent traffic regulation order proposals which are currently under consultation. Please forward any comments or objections by email.

TRAF/7687 - Proposed Quiet Lane, Water Lane, Shalford

This proposal is to introduce a quiet lane on Water Lane, Shalford in the District of Braintree.

This proposal is to introduce No Waiting At Any Time Restrictions at the development known as Gershwin Boulevard, Witham in the District of Braintree

TRAF/7671 - No Waiting at Any Time amendments, Rawreth Lane/Hullbridge Road, Rayleigh

This proposal is to amend the existing waiting restriction arrangements in accordance with the new carriageway layout and roundabout being constructed at the Hullbridge Road/Rawreth Lane junction, Rayleigh in the District of Rochford.

TRAF/7604 - Upgrade of Crossing - Zebra to Puffin - Stock Road (Near Orchard Avenue), Billericay in the Borough of Basildon. 

This proposal is intended to make changes that will upgrade the current zebra crossing to a Puffin Crossing, Extra low voltage equipment and lower-energy LED signals will be installed in order to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.

TRAF/7660 - Disabled Parking Bay Upgrades/Removal/Implement - Colchester

This proposal is a proposal to remove, upgrade and implement several Disabled Parking Bays and Parking Restrictions on various Roads in the Borough of Colchester.

 

TRAF/7642 - No Waiting at Any Time, Mowbray Road, Harlow

This proposal is to install a short section of No Waiting at Any Time restrictions on Mowbray Road, Harlow.

TRAF/7554 - Experimental Prohibition of Motor Vehicles, Wake Road (known locally as Manor Road), High Beech, Waltham Abbey in the District of Epping Forest

This proposal is as a result of a request received from the Epping Forest District Council Community Safety Partnership, funded by the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex and supported by the City of London Corporation to close Wake Road to motor vehicles overnight following recorded anti-social behaviour and criminal activity. This will be undertaken as a trial period and will enable an informed assessment to be made as to the impacts for all road users, before a decision is made as to whether a permanent restriction should be introduced.

TRAF/7556 - Experimental Prohibition of Motor Vehicles Saturday Only 5AM - 6PM, Wickford, in the Borough of Basildon

A request has been received from Basildon Borough Council to close Wickford High Street to motor vehicles on Saturdays to facilitate a weekly market in the High Street. Funding acquired by Basildon Borough Council has facilitated this opportunity and the trial period will enable an informed assessment to be made as to the impacts for residents, businesses and road users.
