Traffic Regulation Orders

A Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) is a legal order. It enables the county council, as the highway authority, to manage traffic in the county. Examples of TROs includes parking restrictions, speed limits, one-way streets, weight restrictions, no right/left turns and loading bays. The following is a list of recent traffic regulation order proposals which are currently under consultation. Please forward any comments or objections by email.

TRAF/8719 - The proposed Implementation of a Pedestrian Crossing (Puffin) on B1389 Hatfield Road, Witham, Braintree.

This proposal is to upgrade the existing uncontrolled crossing on B1389 Hatfield Road to a signalised Pedestrian Crossing (Puffin) in Witham, Braintree.

TRAF/8711 - Proposed extention of 'No Stopping Except Busses' on Manor Street, in the District of Braintree 

This proposal is to revoke 'Resident Parking Holders only Zone 3, and to extend 'No Stopping Except Buses' Restriction on Manor Street, in the District of Braintree

TRAF/7823 - Proposed Implementation of a '40mph Speed Limit' (an existing National Speed Limit Road) on the B1027 Flag Hill, and the B1027 Colchester Road, Great Bentley, and St. Osyth, Tendring.

This proposal is to introduce a '40mph Speed Limit' on an existing National Speed Limit length of the B1027 Flag Hill, in the Parish of Great Bentley, and the B1027 Flag Hill, and the B1027 Colchester Road, in the Parish of St. Osyth, in the District of Tendring.
