Good progress has been made on the improvement programme so far, but from 3 May 2026 phase two carriageway and footway works will pause to allow essential utility works to take place.

These third‑party activities within the carriageway must be completed before the remaining improvements can continue.

Once the utility works are finished, the outstanding carriageway and footway construction will resume. This final phase is expected to take around two weeks to complete.
