About the scheme

As part the planning permission granted by Maldon District Council for the Westcombe Park housing development (application 15/00419/OUT and APP/X1545/W/19/3230267), a new relief road will be constructed between Langford and Broad Street Green in Heybridge.

Countryside properties are responsible for the works and will be employing Walsh Contracting and FM Conway to carry out construction activities on their behalf.

Current status - October 2025

Jubilee Way, the new relief road in Heybridge, is now fully open bringing welcome improvements to traffic flow in the area. A temporary 30mph speed limit will be in place while final works are completed.

As drivers adjust to the new road layout, we kindly advise everyone to take extra care and observe all signage and road markings in place. Navigating the new priorities safely will help ensure a smooth transition for all road users.

Meanwhile, progress continues on Langford Road, where the final phase of works is underway. Safety barriers are being installed and remaining activities are being completed to enhance the route.

Thank you for your continued patience and support while the developer has delivered this vital upgrade to Heybridge’s infrastructure, making everyday journeys smoother and safer for residents, commuters, and visitors alike.
