About the works

Works have been successfully completed to upgrade the safety barriers on the central reservation of Essex Yeomanry Way in Chelmsford.

The works were complete in October 2025 ahead of schedule, allowing for additional enhancements to be carried out within the original timeframe.

 The project involved:

• 13,570 hours of continuous work
•  3,700m of new safety barriers installed
• 103 tonnes of steel used and 448 tonnes of concrete poured
•  4,256 tonnes of surplus soil safely removed

We appreciate the patience and cooperation we received from drivers during our works. The support helps us to make Essex's roads safer for everyone.
