About the works

Plans are in place to upgrade the safety barriers on the central reserve of the A1114 Essex Yeomanry Way in Chelmsford.

Main works will begin in July 2025, with activities delivered in phases between the Army and Navy roundabout and the A12 Howe Green interchange, with completion before the end of October 2025.

How it will affect you

Improvements are scheduled to begin on 14 July 2025, starting with night-time operations before progressing to a combination of day and night works.

To ensure the safety of both workers and road users, temporary lane restrictions will be in place throughout the works, along with  a reduction in the speed limit to 40mph. A limited number of temporary road closures may also be required, with details to be confirmed closer to the time.

Further information

Please note that the programme may be subject to change if affected by poor weather or if unexpected issues arise.

We aim to keep residents and businesses updated via this webpage and site signage. Information will also be shared with local parish councils.
