Public art schemes in subways

Public art schemes in subways

As a local highway authority, we look after the structural well being of our assets. Out of over 1500 structures that Essex County Council maintains, 109 are subways. Schools, districts, boroughs or charities can apply to paint or create public art within subways. However, this must be approved by the Structures Team and any art work must be agreed by Local Members and the Cabinet Member for Environment and Culture.
