London Road, Newhall, Harlow

Works Location

About the scheme

Countryside Properties and Kaybridge Construction, who are responsible for the works, will be constructing a new access road from the Newhall development onto London Road.

The works will consist of the creation of a raised table crossroads junction and traffic calming in London Road.

Traffic calming measures on London Road will include build outs and a proposed reduction from 40mph to 30mph speed limit.

When will the work take place and how may it affect you?

Works will take place from Monday 23rd July 2018, from London Road Roundabout to Gilden Way Roundabout (a distance of approximately 777m).

The majority of the works will be completed under a full road closure during the school holidays. Any work not completed in this time will be undertaken either by signal control or overnight closures.

A diversion route has been put in place during the closure (see documents below) which is likely to cause travel delays to local residents. However, due to the reconstruction of London Road, it is felt it that a full road closure would be safer for the contractor and it should significantly reduce the length of the programme.

Access will be maintained throughout to properties in London Road for pedestrians, cyclists and emergency services.

We are working with the developer to keep their time on the carriageway to a minimum.
