Updates on the Chelmsford North East Bypass advanced works in fourth edition of newsletter

Advanced enabling works are continuing to progress ahead of the construction of the planned Chelmsford North East Bypass, with the beams for the new bridge set to be lifted into place next month.

The enabling works involve building a new multi-modal bridge, which will allow the continued operation of the existing mineral quarry, Bulls Lodge, during construction and operation of the bypass.

Concrete has been poured for the front and rear faces of the eastern bridge wall and will be poured for the western bridge wall shortly. The bridge beams will arrive later this month, ready to be put in place in July, while work to construct the approach ramps will also start shortly.

The advanced works are making good progress and are on schedule to be completed in October (2023).

More information is available in the fourth edition of the Chelmsford North East Bypass advanced works newsletter, produced by Octavius Infrastructure, and is available at the bottom of the Chelmsford North East Bypass webpage.
