Update on the Bunny Walks main improvement works.

An important walking and cycling route within the city, the Bunny Walks scheme aims to improve safety and enhance the section of the Bunny Walks route between Victoria Road and Hillview Road. This will see the reconstruction and resurfacing of the route and new tactile paving installed.

As part of the scheme, we have also recently upgraded the toucan crossing on Victoria Road with new widened crossing facilities and swapped the walking and cycling sides of the path to match the facilities on the Riverside Leisure Centre side of Victoria Road, so improving safety and separation for pedestrians and cyclists.

Works on the first section of Bunny Walks (between Victoria Road and the first bridge crossing) will start on the 4th December and will be completed before Christmas. The section up to Hillview Road will begin in January and will take around 6 weeks.

Works on the bridges will be undertaken in February and March, depending on weather/water levels.

Diversion routes for pedestrians and cyclists will be via Victoria Road, Bunny Walks (dependant on the section being worked on) Brook Street, New Street and vice versa.
