Slade Bridge – site surveys and trial hole investigations

Preparations are being made to carry out site surveys and trial hole investigations at Slade Bridge which runs under the High Street in Saffron Walden.

A site survey is planned to take place on Wednesday 2 November 2022 which will involve accessing the culvert via the footway manhole. For safety cones and barriers will be around each manhole while we access the culvert. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

From Monday 7 November to Friday 18 November 2022 we will be undertaking trial hole investigations within the footway on the High Street (weekdays only). Multi-way traffic lights will be in place to provide a safe workspace. To ensure there is minimal impact to the area the existing signals will be superseded by the temporary lights. An alternative footpath will be in place to ensure access is maintained at all times.
