Road Closures: Harlow Sustainable Transport Corridor
Road Closure - First Avenue Mandela Avenue
On behalf of Essex County Council, Bouygues UK Ltd are undertaking essential works on First Avenue Mandela Avenue as part of the Harlow Sustainable Transport Corridor project.
As a result of these works, First Avenue Mandela Avenue, between the Velizy Roundabout and the Park Lane mini roundabout, will be closed in both directions from 8pm on Wednesday 16th of July to 5am on Thursday 17th of July 2025.
Please be aware that an additional nighttime road closure may be required in this area, from 8pm on Thursday 17th of July to 5am on Friday 18th of July 2025. This additional road closure will only take place should scheduled works on the night of 16th July be delayed, and therefore, may not be required.
A nighttime road closure is required to complete surfacing in this section of First Avenue Mandela Avenue, while ensuring public and workforce safety during this period.

Road Closure – Northbound on Velizy Avenue A1019
On behalf of Essex County Council, Bouygues UK Ltd are undertaking essential works on the Northbound side of Velizy Avenue A1019 as part of the Harlow Sustainable Transport Corridor project.
As part of these works, a nighttime road closure will take place on Velizy Avenue A1019, northbound from the Water Gardens Roundabout to the Velizy Roundabout. This closure will be in place during the following dates and times:
- From 8pm on Thursday 17th of July to 5am on Friday 18th of July 2025
- From 8pm on Friday 18th of July to 5am on Saturday 19th of July 2025
Please note that unfortunately there will be no access into Crown Gate or Terminus Street / Post Office Road via Velizy Avenue during this closure period, however First Avenue Mandela Avenue will remain open on the night of 17th of July to facilitate the diversion route for this closure.
