Oasis Bridge - Overnight road closure for removal of contraflow

We are making good progress on site and are on schedule to make the final change to the traffic management. An overnight road closure will be required on A138 Chelmer Road on Sunday 14 November 2021 in order to remove the contraflow and to install lane closures in both directions on the A138 Chelmer Road.

The closure will be in place between the hours of 8pm to 5am during which appropriate signs and diversion route will be in place.  When the road reopens on Monday morning, lane two on the southbound carriageway will be closed and lane two and three will be closed on the northbound carriageway.

For those travelling on the A138 Chelmer Road (northbound) in the direction of Boreham interchange, after the Toby Carvery Roundabout traffic will be diverted on the exit slip towards the B1137 Springfield Road.  From here it will be possible to re-join the A138 Chelmer Road via the entry slip.

For those travelling southbound (in the direction of the Toby Carvery roundabout), a diversion will be in place via the A130, Colchester Road where you can re-join the A138 Chelmer Road via the Eastern Approach entry slip.

Vehicle access under the bridge will be maintained at all times.
