New and improved road surface for Harlow residents

Improvements are being carried out across the county, including Little Pynchons in Harlow.

Machine surfacing works took place this week on Little Pynchons in Harlow, as part of works being carried out during the spring and summer to improve road surfaces.

Working through heatwave conditions, Essex Highways crews removed the existing surface to replace it with a new, improved and safer road surface.

Resurfacing fixes the damage caused by bad weather. It also gives roads a longer life than if individual pothole repairs are made.

More resurfacing works upcoming in June include the B1014 Essex Way in South Benfleet, A113 High Road in Chigwell, and Pondfield Lane in Hutton.

Essex County Councillor Mark Webster, Cabinet Member Elect for Highways and Infrastructure, said: “Residents in Essex deserve roads that are safe, reliable and built to last, which is exactly how our resurfacing programme is making a difference.

“This is part of a wider commitment to raise the standard of our road network across Essex, and we know residents want action because we have listened to them, so we’re going to fix it.”
