Welcome to the Highways Service Information Centre
The first of a series of road resurfacing schemes in Basildon has been completed as part of a £25 million Essex Highways investment.
Essex County Council announced its ‘Priority One’ funding to make additional highways crews and resources available to address issues which matter most to residents.
This includes road resurfacing, vegetation clearance, drain clearing and painting road markings and lines across the county.
Essex Highways crews carried out resurfacing and lining on Rectory Road in Little Burstead throughout the night on 13 October.
The same treatment got underway on Gardiners Lane South on 18 October and are due to take place overnight on Ashlyns in Pitsea this Saturday (26 October), having been rearranged due to poor weather conditions.
Councillor Mark Platt, Deputy Cabinet Member for Highways, Infrastructure and Sustainable Transport at Essex County Council, and Priority One lead, said: “The Priority One funding gives us the opportunity to get more highways resurfacing crews out on the road, tackling the issues we know matter to local people.
“I am very pleased we have made a good start in Basildon, with a number of future works planned in the borough.
“Thank you to local residents for their support and patience while these overnight works were undertaken."
