Essex Highways prepared for Storm Eunice

Essex Highways is asking road-users to minimise travel tomorrow (Friday 18th February) as an amber weather is in place for Essex with winds expected to reach over and above 70mph.

If road users do have to travel they are asked to check the latest information on @essex_travel or @essexhighways on Twitter.

On Wednesday (16th February), Essex Highways road crews were diverted from road maintenance operations to clear 36 trees blown over by Storm Dudley. These clean up operations continued into the night and were finished today.

The same crews are now preparing to once again keep roads clear with Storm Eunice set to arrive in the early morning on Friday.

Essex Traffic Control Centre will do everything to inform residents of any traffic issues throughout the day.

Information from road users and residents is key to keeping the county road network open, so if you see a road blocked by fallen trees or branches you can let Essex Highways know following the guidance on our Tell us tool.

If a tree is causing an issue with overhead cables, you can report it to https://www.ukpowernetworks.co.uk/power-cut/ or call 0800 3163105 or simply 105 from a mobile number.
