Resurfacing works on Ashingdon Road, Rochford, began on 19 May using a new material called Recofoam.
As part of this scheme, a Recofoam layer is being installed to strengthen the road before a new surface is applied. It’s created by reusing the existing road surface removed during the works.
Once produced, the Recofoam is laid as a strengthening layer, after which a conventional surface material is applied on top to complete the works.
This approach is expected to deliver a cost saving of approximately £100,000 per job.
