£2 DigiGo single fares extended until 30 June 2023

On-demand shared public transport service extends participation in Government’s Bus Fare Cap scheme.

Following feedback from passengers, it has been announced that DigiGo will be extending its participation in the Government’s Bus Fare Cap Grant (BFCG) for another three months.

This means that all single DigiGo tickets will remain capped at just £2 until 30 June 2023, making it even easier for residents to access social, employment, health or education opportunities and key locations across its operational area.

DigiGo is a shared public transport service which offers on-demand or pre-bookable travel in parts of Essex.

There is no fixed route or timetable, which puts customers in control of their journeys.

DigiGo operates seven days a week, from 7am until 10pm everyday (excluding bank holidays), with passengers being able to book their £2 DigiGo journeys via the TravelEssex app.

Vehicles can be tracked in real time prior to and during the journey and can be booked to travel on-demand or up to seven days in advance.

The Government’s £2 Bus Fare Cap can save passengers up to 75% off all DigiGo travel until 30 June 2023. Passengers can save up to £120 a month if they tend to take five single trips a week.

DigiGo is a pilot that has been funded by the Department for Transport’s Rural Mobility Fund, part of which included trialling electric minibuses.

The electric minibuses are being regularly reviewed to analyse how they are performing.

The buses might look a little different whilst the regular electric fleet is undergoing these reviews, however, the DigiGo logo will be on the temporary vehicles to help residents spot them out and about, so please look for these when boarding.
