28 August 2026 Road Closure

St Botolph's Circus Regeneration update - upcoming road closures

To help minimise disruption as the regeneration works continue at St Botolph’s Circus, the Jackson Civil Engineering team will be undertaking a series of overnight works.

This will see ducting installed under the road surface to enable the installation of traffic signals and streetlights. The team will also be removing the existing road markings and installing temporary road barriers.

Measures will be in place to minimise the impact of vibration and noise, while the work is underway. During the closure alternative routes will be clearly signposted.

  • Magdalen Street will be closed from 14th September for five weeknights - 9pm to 5am. Diversions will be routed through Lexden Road, Cymbeline Way, Cowdray Avenue, Hythe Quay and Barrack Street.
  • St Botolph’s Street will be closed from 14th September for 10 weeknights - 9pm to 5am. Diversions for Southbound will be routed via Osborne Street and Southway. For Northbound routed via Magdalen Street, Brook Street, East Hill and onto St Botolph’s Street.
