St Botolph's Circus Regeneration update 2/11/26

As the project now moves into its next phase changes will be made to the layout of the traffic management on site

On Southway, westbound traffic has been reduced to one lane during during quieter periods of the day. This is to allow work on a retaining wall on the south-west side of the junction. While these works are underway, the team will closely monitor traffic and return to two lanes wherever possible.

On Southway, eastbound, over the coming days the tema will install fencing to enable work on the kerb, drains and manholes, and concrete works in the subway. This will mean a footpath diversion for pedestrians, which will be clearly signposted.

Work continues with the creation of 6 large water chambers across the junction, all of which require complex steel work and concrete to be poured at various stages of construction. This requires large plant such as the concrete mixer and large crane to manoeuvre around the site and and access the site from the carriageway.
