East Hill - Remembrance Day

This coming Sunday 8 November,  Remembrance events will take place across the city, managed through Colchester City Council. Colchester’s War Memorial on the High Street will be the focal point for the city’s traditional Remembrance Service and wreath-laying ceremony, which will begin at 10.45am.

To enable the event, road closures will be in place from 8am to 1pm between the top of the High Street and Lewis Gardens. There will also be a temporary reversal of the one-way system on Priory Street. Further details can be found at http://www.new.colchester.gov.uk/news/2026/colchester-honour-fallen-remembrance-sunday

To support this important day, the East Hill site team have re-programmed works to ensure there is no impact on the planned activities.

Working with the event organisers, the team will also this week be reducing some elements of the current traffic management arrangements and ensuring all temporary signage associated with the event is clearly visible.
