About the scheme

We're carrying out necessary reconstruction and kerb repairs in and around Furtherwick Road, Canvey Island to help preserve the road and extend its lifespan.

The scheme will focus on repairing sections of damaged footway and replacing defective kerbs in areas where the deterioration is too severe to be addressed through slurry sealing alone.

These targeted repairs will ensure the highway remains safe, serviceable and resilient for all users.

This work forms part of Essex Highways' ongoing highway maintenance programme, which aims to preserve existing assets and prevent further deterioration.

By addressing problem areas now, we can help maintain the overall condition of the road, improve the quality of journeys for residents and visitors, and reduce the need for more extensive and disruptive repairs in the future.
