Welcome to the Highways Service Information Centre
As part of a developer-funded scheme by Sempra Homes Ltd, highway improvements are planned on the B1007 Laindon Link, Basildon, to support the new residential development at Chapelgate.
These works are essential to ensure safe and suitable access to the new development and will include:
The works are scheduled to begin on Monday 6 October 2025 and are expected to last for approximately six weeks.
The majority of the works will take place Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Carriageway resurfacing is provisionally planned for the week commencing 10 November 2025 and will involve overnight work between 9pm to 5am.
The bus stop upgrades are planned to take place in the school autumn half-term starting from Monday 27 October 2025.
For the duration of the daytime works, Laindon Link will be controlled by multi-way temporary traffic signals at the junction with Great Knightleys.
An overnight road closure will be required on the westbound carriageway of Laindon Link to facilitate carriageway resurfacing on the dates stated above. A signed diversion route will be in place during this time.
During the autumn half-term, the bus stops on both sides of Laindon Link near the site access will be temporarily closed.
Please check with your local bus operator for details on temporary bus stop locations and revised timetables during this period.
