A127 Rayleigh Weir Signals upgrade

About the scheme:

A programme of traffic signals improvements has been undertaken during 2017 at the A127 Rayleigh Weir and A129 Stadium Way junctions in Rayleigh.  Only minor works remain outstanding and will be scheduled in due course.

The scheme involved upgrading the signals with the latest technology to enable better connectivity and for the signals on Rayleigh Weir to be linked with the signals on the Stadium Way junction.  This is designed to help to manage traffic flow from the A127 slip roads and adjoining routes, and improving reliability of the signals.

Footway and carriageway repairs and improvements were included as part of the scheme and an additional CCTV camera is due to be installed allow Essex Traffic Control Centre to monitor and control signals as necessary.

The work has been funded by through the A127 Corridor for Growth improvement package funded by South Essex Local Enterprise Partnership.
