We have been allocated £1,799,829 which will be used towards the design and construction of South Mayne signalised crossing in Basildon which is part of the Basildon cycling and walking route 2. We have also used the funding to carry out walking and cycling improvements on Wenders Road in Saffron Waldon, Rectory Lane in Loughton and St Andrew’s Avenue and Whitethorn Close in Greenstead, Colchester.

Two design-only schemes will also be worked on: a segregated cycle track between Bruff Close and the Albert Roundabout in Colchester and the North Essex Greenway (Earls Colne to Coggeshall).
