A127 Carriageway resurfacing

Road resurfacing on 16 different sites along the A127 has now been completed as a key part of this year’s Essex road improvement programme.

The A127 is a vital, heavily used route in Essex which sees more than 74,000 vehicles a day on some sections, resulting in heavy surface wear.

Because the A127 is so important for so many drivers, work was carried out overnight from February to May 2016 to minimise delays and other works were carried out at the same time to avoid the need for separate road closures.  These included repairs to street lights, signs, drains, kerbs and gully cleansing and repainting road markings.

Locations identified for carriageway resurfacing to extend the life of the road surface included:

Site 1 -   M25 to A127 Slip Road
