Train Travel

Essex has an extensive rail network, with most services currently operated by either Greater Anglia or c2c. Some areas of west Essex also have London Underground stations. There are frequent services into London from all over Essex as well as to parts of other counties including Suffolk, Norfolk and Hertfordshire.

If you need to plan a journey by rail you will find all the route, timetable and fare information you need on the National Rail Enquiries website.

When buying a ticket you may also want to ask for PLUSBUS to be added to your ticket, which gives you bus and tram travel to and from the rail station and around the whole urban area or town that's at the start and/or end of your train journey.

You can also find out more about rail services from Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership

Extra help is available planning your journey via Transport Direct and you can see a full diagram of Essex Rail Routes via the link below.
